Cohiba, Fidel Castros preferred brand, was created in 1966 as Havanas premier brand for diplomatic purposes.
Since 1982, it was offered to the public in three sizes: Lanceros, Coronas Especiales and Panetelas. In 1989, three more sizes were added to complete the classic line namely: Esplendidos, Robustos and Exquisitos.
In 1992, the following five sizes were further made in order to commemorate the 500th anniversary of the discovery of Cuba in 1492: Siglo I, II, III, IV and V.
COHIBA PIRAMIDES EXTRAS
Length: 6¼" Ring Gauge: 54
In 2012, the Pirámides Extra became the first cigar since 1989 to be introduced to the Cohiba Linea Clásica range. Measuring 6 ¼" (160mm) x 54 ring gauge and "torpedo" in shape, it was a totally unique vitola (size) and the first in the range to carry the newly designed cigar band incorporating additional holographic security elements. Launched in Cabinet Boîte Nature boxes of 10, they quickly become a popular addition to Cuba's flagship brand.
Now these much sought-after cigars are available in stunning "pop-off top " tubes (packs of 3) which will no doubt further increase their popularity.
